Its still cold as fuck and I'm still not feeling well....but I did manage to get a little done on snowy monday night.
The cold weather has caught up to me....Its been in the 0's for the last 4 or 5 days. My shop is not that insulated, cinder block walls and a steel garage door. My heater is a hanging Reznor from the early 19hundreds...Fucking thing! Blasting hot air blowing down on you one second, then freezing breezes blowing up at you the next....I didnt get much done today.
Well, today went good. I finally made the step to cut out the original support bracket and start fresh. It was hard to do, I had about 15 hours into molding that thing in... I was unsure about the new tail section, so I made another...That one did not work out...So I went to work with what I had...
Bars I built last night....I think they are too tall with to much bend....Its alot of work/money (304 stainless)to scrap, but I gotta get it right....I will be using AP radial masters...so before I start a new set of bars I will wait and see how the look with the controls on there.
got rid of subframe and slammed the seat posts down. Now I will rebuils subframe and taillight mount....I like this much better.
I want to use as many S&S parts as I can. I Shaved .75 off the filter, the backing plate, and the cover.
Local Dragbike chassis builders Koenig Engineering, applied their 10"discs to a un-used & shaved 12 spoke mag. We had to go .5 over on the width of the triples and make a new axle. I have yet to weld the new tabs on the lowers for the Grimica brakes.
Ready to fab bars.
Headlight done...I think...The back of the headlight housing is concave...it slyly wraps the headstock as the bars turn...about .125 off the headstock.
The peg mounting set up with the kick shifter.....Pegs might be changed out for some freestyle BMX or motocross ones.
